What’s happening
?
The echoes of new life, and renewed energy
now abounds in and around the historic Ithaca Commons. A
nightlife of play and enjoyment as younger faces of academia are
mixing in with an influx of traditional Ithacan
families. Children gleefully play on the small wooden
recreation slide and cabin fixture adjacent to the Rothschild Building.
" Whew " as one downtown merchant
puts it. Then another merchant would expressed the feelings of
most of the others, " Finally or at
last and after so many years of sticking it out."
Foot traffic has been steadily increasing over the past year, as new
nightlife venues are opening at an unprecedented rate ever in the
history of downtown Ithaca. A
real nightlife boom has occurred, and the cash registers are singing
out their song of the emerging prosperity.
More and more bands are playing a whole host of clever
inspired music. Poetry readings, and every so often someone
would venture a comedic act, and or a dance performance.
And it is all starting now......thus......
Snap and Snap...
Several photographers are setting up and snapping the new images
being produced by the swarming of youthful social interactions downtown, all vested with alluring diversities,
and more and more artists are setting up their easels painting
glimpses of this lovely historical section of the city.
Moreover, and if the reports are correct tourist dollars are now
starting to make their way in the growing economic picture as well.
Ithaca is gorges
too!
We are covering it all.
Ithaca Night Life ( NightLife
), NY is the social and cultural events web site reporting the
nightlife scene within Ithaca and
Tompkins county. Here you will find links to a social calendars
[ Community related and University - College related ] on ongoing weekly
events, as well as dances, shows, and social get-togethers.
As you will note on the various sites there are online forms in which
you can send those weekly events which are not listed. They
will be posted once they are checked out. More importantly, Ithaca
Night Life ( NightLife
), NY is linked to a growing network of Night Life ( NightLife ), RMC through the world. As
an Alexa report once indicated, " This network is the largest combination of
web sites who have obtained page one and two rankings through-out the
world."
What this means is that others throughout the world are now linking
up to these sites and now additional web sites are being created to focus of recent
trends ( IE. nightlife fashions designs in Europe increasingly going topless ) in nightlife styles, who are the top nightclubs,
the National and International theatre
scene, and for those who are academically committed to cutting edge
ideals, and intellectual thought.
On the other hand.....
There are
special service web sites
for students / scholars of both Cornell, TC3,
and Ithaca College among others. Something
not only to have fun with, but more importantly letting the
world know who you are and what’s popular on campus too! All being
reported by you the students with the online reporting forms.
These web
sites are developed to inspire Ithaca as whole to
become renewed, and energized; thus living up to the promotional aim of this
network.
" The city of Ithaca, New York the Cultural Magnet Destination City."
It is the Inter - City Cultural Communication web site program of
this network which has attracted popular attention in Paris
France, and now more recent Baghdad.
This also means that responsibility has been accepted in several
important ways for public service such as a web site for Persian Gulf Veterans - to assist in the social and
cultural reintegration of these courageous group
of Americans who contributed a portion of their lives in national
service.
