A Week Long Celebration of Beauty, Fashion, Fitness and Career Development, To Promote Careers in the Fashion Industry From In Front of, to Behind the Camera; Opening Gala On 10/21 To Present Baltimore’s Fashion Week which will Kick Off The Promotion of Baltimore’s Fashion Month in 2008

Support Pours In from Individual Supporters, Business and Community Leaders For Baltimore Fashion Week 2007 To Help Support Workshops, Scholarship Awards and Programs

Baltimore, Maryland (September 26, 2007) – The Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute And Cultural Arts Center today announced the launch of “Baltimore’s Fashion Week,” a movement born to showcase existing fashion, beauty and fitness talent in Baltimore and to encourage and develop Baltimore’s youth to pursue their dreams of working in the Fashion Industry.

Beginning October 21st, 2007 – October 27th, 2007, at the Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute And Cultural Arts Center, local photographers, models, actors, beauty, and fitness experts and business owners collectively join forces to create a central place in Baltimore where the Fashion Experts of Baltimore can network and promote their services. The exceptional talent in Baltimore will also lend insight and support to those aspiring a career or further education in Fashion.

Fashion week will include a week of lectures, workshops, and networking events. The main event will be a fashion show that showcases apparel from local businesses as well as designs by local talent. Sponsorship and advertising packages are available.

Howard Street Baltimore, Maryland 21201-4605; Their mission is as follows: 1. To promote the unique history and continuing legacy of African-American art and culture in the city of Baltimore. This is done through our exhibition space, programming and educational activities. 2. To supply low and moderate income residents the opportunity to participate in the arts and culture. 3. To extend to young people the possibility of participating in and learning the discipline of the arts. They are certified 501(c)3 non profit organization chartered in the state of Maryland. Specifically some of their projects include but are not limited to: 1. After school arts instruction in dance, crafts, theater, music, history, etc. 2. Musical Theater and Jazz Performances 3. An extensive art gallery 4. Multimedia production 5. Historical preservation For best results, give them plenty of sun, frequent watering, and regular fertilization.
