Collegetown

 

Sitting on top of East Hill with Cornell University, with over 20 bars and restaurants within short walking distance of each other and Cornell, Collegetown provides students, locals, and visitors various convenient establishments for drinking, shopping, and eating! There are several very good Asian restaurants, as well as Greek, Mediterranean, Latin, Indian, Pizza, Sandwiches, Burritos, American, and Continental cuisine.

 

Current Events:

Like a good Burrito? – try THAT BURRITO PLACE! On College Avenue! Open late weekends, they’ll make a fresh burrito for you with fresh ingredients while you wait! They are so good and good for you too!

 

Spring is coming and along with it are a host of new bars on Eddy Street (just a block down from the main strip on College Ave)

 

The newest bar, right across from us here at LEVEL B, is the “City Style Salon and Sake Bar” at 407 Eddy Street (607)277-0772 – get your haircut, nails done, or a coloring – then stay for some great drinks mixed by Josh! (Most folks just stop in whenever.) They have even gotten in on the Latin craze, providing an 18+ Latin party with DJ Tico on Fridays.

 

Girls - Be sure to check out the fun new clothing store “Some Girls”. Some of the fashions were recently featured on MTV!! Eddy Street.

 

A bit about Eddy Street:

At the top of Eddy Street, you’ll find the Eddy “Gate”, the original entrance to Cornell University. This section of Collegetown is also home to four bars and lounges, six restaurants, two Laundromats, two convenience stores, a hair salon, and hundreds of young, fun, residents. Come early and shop, eat, get made beautiful or just walk around and enjoy! At night, dance, meet friends, and have some cocktails!

 

Nightspots:

  • Level-B Upscale bar and lounge with nightclub atmosphere and dancing, live DJs, Top shelf liquors. Ithaca’s best dancing nighspot, come early for great drink specials and stay to dance the night away. For info call (607)-272-3888. 410 Eddy Street. Weds-Sat 9PM-LATE with different events weekly.
  • City Style Salon and Sake Bar Salon by day, and bar by night! Get your hair done, then stay and have a Sake-Tini. Or just come in and enjoy chill music, and a great vibe. 400 block Eddy Street.
  • Pixel Hip, upscale lounge atmosphere with live DJs often. Extensive video game selection. Tasty selection of beer and top shelf liquors. On an alley off the Dryden Road, between College Ave. and Eddy St.
Dunbars Hole-in-the-wall bar on Eddy Street providing very cheap weeknight specials. Lots of Cornell history.
 
  • The Chapter House A local institution located on Stewart Avenue with a large selection of regional/microbrew/import beers on tap. Its location between Collegetown and Downtown Ithaca draws on a diverse spectrum of local crowds.
  • Rulloffs Collegetown bar and restaurant on the main strip (College Avenue), semi-Irish bar atmoshpere - serving lunch and dinner with a moderatley priced and extensive menu. Accepts CityBucks. Mondays – Karaoke.
  • Stella's Cosmopolitan-style restaurant, bar, and coffee shop with downstairs lounge. Large selection of Martinis, bourbons, single-malts, and local organic foods.  400 Block College Avenue
  • The Royal Palms Classic bar on Dryden Road, just up from College Avenue. Cheap drinks and dive bar charm.
  • Johnny O’s College Bar on 400 block College Ave. 80’s Night on Tuesday.
  • Dino’s  Restaurant; 18 & Up most nights. DJ’s, hip hop. Younger college crowd. 300 Block of College Avenue.
  • Collegetown Bagels Sandwiches and outdoor tables, which makes a great place to grab a pitcher and a  snack and people watch, or chat with friends. Great for coffee and breakfast too. At the edge of Cornell, on the gorge, corner of Oak and College avenues.
  • The Nines Restaurant/Bar located in an old firehouse on College Ave. Outdoor seating area, serves some of the best pizza in Ithaca. A great place to sit outdoors on a nice summer evening. Music most every night. 300 Block College Ave.
  • Mango Café Pan-Latin Restaurant serving dinners only, available for special events at night. Not serving alcohol yet.
